What Calmtree is, what it is not, and what to do if you need care rather than a result.

1. This is education, not healthcare

Calmtree publishes psychology education and self-reflection assessments. Everything on this site is intended to help you notice patterns in your own experience and think about them more clearly.

Nothing on Calmtree is a clinical test, a medical device, a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for professional care. We are not a healthcare provider, and using this site does not create a clinician-patient or counsellor-client relationship between you and Calmtree Pvt Ltd or anyone associated with it.

2. What a result actually is

A Calmtree result is produced by applying a fixed scoring rule to the answers you gave, and then showing wording that was written in advance for that band or profile. It is not an assessment of you by a person, and no clinician reviews individual results.

Because of that, a result:

  • reflects how you answered on one occasion, and can change with your mood, your week, or how you read a question
  • describes a pattern, not a condition. Our assessments do not detect, screen for, or rule out any medical or psychological condition
  • is a prompt for reflection, not a label, a prediction, or a statement of fact about you

Assessment titles use everyday language. A term like "burnout" on this site describes a pattern of answers, and is not being used as a clinical term.

3. Do not use Calmtree to make a decision about someone's care

Do not use, or delay, any medical or psychological care because of something you read here. If you are worried about your health or someone else's, speak to a qualified professional. If a Calmtree result and a professional disagree, the professional is the one who has met you.

If you are in immediate danger, or thinking about harming yourself, do not use this site. Contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline now. In India, dial 112 for emergencies, or Tele-MANAS on 14416 for mental health support, available at any hour and free of charge.

4. Assessments sent by an employer

Where an organisation invites you to take an assessment, the same limits apply, and two more things are worth saying plainly. Your individual answers and result are never shown to your employer. And a Calmtree result is not a fitness-for-work assessment, a screening tool, or a basis on which anybody should make an employment decision about an individual.

Organisations receive group-level summaries only, and only where enough people have responded for the group to remain anonymous. What that means in detail is in the Privacy Policy.

5. Our assessments are our own

Calmtree assessments are written in-house. They are not licensed, standardised clinical instruments, and they have not been through the validation process a clinical instrument requires. Where an assessment resembles a published scale in subject matter, it is not that scale and should not be read as one.

Our assessments are reviewed for tone and accuracy before publication. Review is not clinical validation, and we do not claim it is.

6. External links and third-party content

Where we link to helplines, services, articles or other organisations, we do so because we believe they may be useful. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, or the care they provide.

7. Limits on liability

To the extent permitted by law, Calmtree is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that any result is accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose, and we are not liable for any decision taken on the basis of one.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
